President and Head of School
As the co-founder of PCS, Dr. Marcie Davis currently serves as Head of School and a non-voting member of the board.
Her responsibilities include overseeing school curriculum, programs, and the almost 50 faculty and staff members of PCS. She is tasked with setting and accomplishing the vision of the school under the guidance of the PCS Board to whom she reports.
Under her leadership, the school has grown from 24 students in grades K-8 to more than 300 students in grades K-12 and in our Simply Providence program for students with developmental and learning needs.
Davis worked with the Classical Latin School Association to establish the school and to achieve accreditation from that organization.
Raised in the D.C. area, Dr. Davis first came to the Carolinas when she attended Campbell University as an Eakes Scholar and earned her bachelor's of science in mathematics. Upon graduation, she received graduate fellowships from the University of Louisville, where she earned a master of arts in mathematics, and from the University of Kentucky, where she completed a master of science in mathematics and a doctorate of education in curriculum and instruction.
She helped to establish the mathematics and education programs at Boyce College in Louisville, KY before moving to Rock Hill.
